Hotel Trundle

Hotel Trundle

If you want a hotel experience to remember, I have just the place!

I have found a great hotel in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, Hotel Trundle.  It opened this year and the experience I had with my daughter and friend was memorable.

This hotel is on Taylor St in the heart of Columbia.

Hotel Trundle

1224 Taylor St, Columbia, SC 29201

A friend came to Columbia from the coast and stayed at Hotel Trundle. My daughter and I met her at the hotel.  This hotel has a one of kind design and feel that will stay with you and keep you coming back.  They have taken three old historic buildings and combined it with new technology and a modern design to make it something truly special.

We wanted to hang out in the lobby because it is comfortable, modern and inviting for all.  We enjoyed wine and chips.  They had board books, a puzzle and a game for my 2-year-old to enjoy.  I charged my phone right on the green couch.

The retro phone and refrigerator are great touches in the room.  The room has two comfortable queen beds and a modern updated bathroom with a huge shower.

The room rates are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

The artwork will make you do a double take.  The Lego People and dinosaurs were a couple of my favorites.  The special creative touches show that the husband and wife team owners, Marcus and Rita, put time and thought into the space.

If you are visiting Columbia, considering relocating, or have real estate questions, please feel free to give me, Jessica Canaday, a call, I am happy to help.

Helpful Information and Fun Tips for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday

Everyone on the team here at J. King Real Estate team would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving this year! In preparation we’ve collected some helpful and fun information from around the web about Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 92nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, including when and how to watch it live on NBC, musical performances, parade route and much more.

You can watch the parade live on Thursday, Nov. 22 starting at 9 a.m. ET until noon on NBC. This year's musical acts will include Diana Ross, John Legend, Kane Brown, Martina McBride, Pentatonix, Rita Ora, Sugarland, and Anika Noni Rose, according to USA Today.

Here’s a list of stores scheduled to be closed on Thanksgiving via Country Living.

Here’s a list of restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving Day for all of those who don’t want the hassle of cooking.

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season since 1952. The term "Black Friday" did not become widely recognized or used until the early 2000s. Now it is a yearly phenomenon in the United States.

Check out some of these Black Friday Ads we found already posted up online.

Small Business Saturday started on November 27, 2010, and was created by American Express (yes, a credit card company), to help small businesses gain more exposure.

Small business Saturday helps the community grow by keeping the money local and boosting the economy and employment.

Read about what American Express says about the good Small Business Saturday creates here

For our local market, check out what Five Points has posted up for Small Business Saturday this year.

Devine Street also has some deals posted up for Small Business Saturday this year.

Cyber Monday is the equivalent to online Black Friday. If you’re not into the crowds on Black Friday, cyber Monday is a great way to get the deals without the hassle of the crowds.

We found some ads out for cyber Monday already as well. You can check them out here.  Amazon of course already has their deals posted up for cyber Monday as well.

Now is a great time to go shopping for your new home too, online or in person! Call us to go home shopping on Black Friday or Cyber Monday!

Pre-Approvals and Closing Costs - Get the information you need to know!

Transaction/Closing Cost Lunch and Learn with Shelley Woodward, Loan Officer and Sales Manager with Inland Home Mortgage.

On Thursday, November 15th, the J. King Real Estate team was able to enjoy a lunch and learn session with Shelley Woodward from Inland Home Mortgage. Shelley sat down with our group of agents and discussed what our agents could expect when it comes to transaction closing costs.

She provided us information on what typical attorneys will charge, what is escrowed and what the client could overall expect to pay at closing. This information is beneficial to our agents so they will be able to properly inform their clients on the home buying process and what to expect going forward. If you are looking to start the home buying process, contact one of our agents today to discuss the information Shelley shared with us about these closing costs.

Shelley even extended her services and knowledge to our agents for whenever they have specific questions on their client’s particular situation, and property they have chosen.

Her services also include online applications, which is super convenient for buyers, and gets them the confirmed pre-approval instead of a pre-qualification based on stated information. This ensure that our clients will be able to move forward with confidence, knowing there won’t be any surprises when it comes to their pre-approval and financing options.

For the clients who may need to do a little work on their credit score, Shelley has a program called Rapid Rescore that she uses to help her clients increase their credit score rapidly, making it possible for them to purchase that new home they have been searching for with our agents.

Contact Shelley for more information, or to begin the online pre-approval process, please click here.

To begin the home search today, contact one of our agents.
