Lower Richland Memorial Day Celebration
This family oriented features a "Solemn Ceremony", live entertainment with Mike Stone Entertainment, The Gospel Redeemers and more. There will also be games, prizes, rides, a free-food buffet and more.
This event will be held on Monday, May 25 from noon-5 p.m. at the Historic Harriet Barber House

Family Fest & Memorial Day Tribute 2012
Head to Finlay Park on Sunday for this outdoor gospel celebration and Memorial Day tribute to veterans and active duty men and women. Artists scheduled to perform include Pastor John P. Kee and Myron Butler. Local and regional musical acts will also perform. Event starts at 4 p.m.
Lake Murray Triathlon
Head out to Dreher Island State Park (3677 State Park Road, Prosperity, SC 29127) to compete or spectate this great event on Sunday, May 24 from 8-9 a.m. There will be a 750 meter swim, 16 mile bike, and 5K run.
Palmetto Concert Band Memorial Day Concert
Palmetto Concert Band presents "A Memorial Tribute" with conductors James Copenhaver, William Moody and Scott Weiss. The band will perform several musical selections including "Children's March" by Grainger, "American Civil War Fantasy" by Bilik, and "The Stars and Stripes Forever." This event is free to the public! It will be at the Koger Center for the Arts and starts at 4 p.m.
Visit Memorial Park
Looking for something to do on your own schedule? Honor the men and women who died in service by paying a visit to Memorial Park in downtown Columbia. The park features several monuments, including a Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial and Pearl Harbor Memorial.
Want to show your support for our military heroes?
Write a thank you card for troops and veterans or a get well card for wounded soldiers this weekend. Just drop them by the Operation Thank You tables in the food court at Dutch Square Center on Saturday or Sunday!
Another great idea:
Show your support for local firefighters and police officers by donating blood Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at the American Red Cross donation center.
